Bar code positioning systems such as the BPS 307i SM 100 H by Leuze guarantee millimeter-precise positioning, which is essential when mobile plant components must work together in an automated manner.

Depending on the application requirements, various solutions are available:

laser distance sensors that measure relative to a reflector;
bar code positioning systems, in which the red light laser detects position and speed along a coded tape;
sensors for optical track guidance via edge recognition;
camera-based solutions for the positioning of telescopic forks.

In bar code systems, the reading head moves along the tape and calculates absolute position data up to 10 km with millimeter precision. The tape, which is easy to apply even on curved paths, ensures maximum flexibility and simple installation. Transparent diagnostics, a wide range of integrated interfaces, and the new availability control function, which enables continuous diagnostics during operation, complete its strengths.
