The MLD 500 series safety sensors are active optoelectronic devices designed to ensure effective protection of hazardous areas in industrial plants. Specifically, the multi-beam safety light curtain transceiver model MLD535-RT2M from Leuze, with integrated muting lamp and status lamp, offers a compact and functional solution, ideal for applications requiring high performance and ease of integration.
Equipped with two fail-safe OSSDs, these sensors use infrared LEDs classified in the exempt group according to standard EN 62471:2008. Furthermore, they are protected against overvoltages and overcurrents in compliance with IEC/EN 60204-1, protection class 3.
Available functions include start/restart interlock (RES), selectable contactor control (EDM), sequential 2-sensor muting and timed 4-sensor muting, as well as the option to extend the muting timeout and connect a second muting signal. Configuration is conveniently done via wiring, without the need for software, making installation simple and quick even in complex systems.
