The NL 50-MPI (code: 1701.430) is an Ethernet programming connector by Hilscher designed for the programming, visualization, and remote maintenance of S7-200, S7-300, and S7-400 PLCs via an Ethernet network. The device allows connection through a free PROFIBUS/MPI/PPI port, offering a compact solution for integrating PLCs without an Ethernet interface into industrial automation architectures.
Thanks to the support of PROFIBUS MPI/DP/PPI and Ethernet protocols, the connector allows PLC access from S7 engineering tools, compatible HMI systems, and customer-developed applications. Configuration can be performed via dedicated software or the integrated web server, facilitating the device’s integration into existing plants and corporate networks.
The device integrates an RJ45 Ethernet 10/100BASE-TX port with auto-negotiation and auto-crossover, as well as 9-pin D-Sub connectors for the PLC bus connection. The 24 V DC power supply, compact dimensions, and direct mounting on the PLC facilitate installation. With an IP20 protection rating, an operating temperature of 0…+55 °C, and CE/RoHS compliance, the NL 50-MPI represents a practical solution for Ethernet access to S7 systems.
